Introduction of Chapter 4 Integumentary System...

  • Completed and went over Pg 134 Exercise 4-3 and Pg 147 Exercise 4-4.
  • Gave handouts on the following:Integumentary notes from the Step by Step power points and the packet(Descriptor, code range, and Coding tips on each subsection of the Integumentary System), and Coding burns with the Rule of nines described, for a total of 3 handouts.

E/M worksheet and "Making Sense of Preventitive Medicine Coding" handout was given.

You were required to do the linking exercise using the "Making Sense of Preventitive Medicine handout" and the CMS-1500 form on the blog.

Remember:
Without the three factors of E/M coding it is impossible to choose an accurate code: Place of Service, Type of Service, Patient Status.
The 3 Key components are also very importatnt: History, Examination, and Medical Decision Making.
