Welcome to Diagnostic Coding! Mon/Wed

Welcome to Diagnostic Coding. This module will be one of the most important modules as you will be learning how to use one of the most important tools in the Medical Billing and Coding Field, The ICD-9 manual. Below you will see some of the resources that I recommend you purchase and bring to class, and some pointers that will help you stay on track in my class. If necessary please print the blog.

Material:

  • Step by Step Text, Step by Step Workbook, Terminology book on Wed, and ICD-9 Manual,
  • Two inch binders(I am always giving handouts, this is an easy way to keep all the material I give you in order)
  • Paper (Lots of notes=lots of paper)
  • Highlighter
  • Blue or Black pen
  • Pencil

Pointers:

  • Arrive on time to class (class starts at 9:00am everyday)
  • Break is 15 minutes and begins at 10:15am( this has always been a rule I did not start a new trend)
  • Class ends at 12:45pm and any tutoring you may need can be from 12:45 to 1:00.
  • Always wear your scrubs
  • Do not surf the net during class, especially during lecture.
